Job Description

Duty Manager – Fives Trafford

Location: FIVES Trafford, 11 Trafford Way, Trafford Park, Manchester
Hours: Part Time / Evenings / Weekends
Reporting to: General Manager

About Fives

We're building football clubs where people know the staff, feel part of the community and want to come back every week. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Duty Manager at Fives Trafford who can help us raise the standard of both our operations and our customer experience.

The Role – Own the Shift

As Duty Manager, you own the club while you're on shift.

That means making sure the football runs smoothly, the team is performing, the centre looks its best and, most importantly, getting to know every customer and that they have a great experience.

You'll be a familiar face at the club and build genuine relationships with our players, captains and teams. We want our customers to be recognised, welcomed and known — not treated like a booking number.

You'll also play an important role in our upcoming new operating system, helping us create a more connected and consistent customer journey from booking and arrival, through to their match and their next visit.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Owning the customer journey from arrival to departure
  • Getting to know our regular players, captains and teams
  • Creating a welcoming, energetic and professional club environment
  • Leading and motivating the team on shift
  • Making sure leagues, bookings and sessions run smoothly and on time
  • Using our systems to understand customers, bookings and club performance
  • Identifying opportunities to improve retention, bookings and revenue
  • Dealing confidently with customer issues and finding solutions
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and safety
  • Supporting Fives promotions,
  • Completing opening, closing and daily operational tasks
  • Working closely with the General Manager

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who takes ownership.

You might already be a Team Leader or Supervisor looking for your first management role, or have previous experience in leisure, hospitality, sport or customer-focused environments.

You'll be:

  • People-focused – you enjoy getting to know customers and building relationships
  • Commercially minded – you naturally look for ways to grow the club
  • A strong leader – you set the standard and bring energy to your team
  • Organised – you can manage a busy shift without losing attention to detail
  • A problem solver – you stay calm and find solutions
  • Confident with technology – you'll embrace our new systems and ways of working
  • Proactive – you see something that needs doing and get it done
  • Passionate about football and people – you understand what makes a great football environment

Why Fives?

This is an opportunity to join a growing business and play a key role in shaping the next stage of Fives Trafford.

Most importantly, you'll have the opportunity to help create a club where players know your name, your team knows what great looks like, and customers genuinely want to come back.
