Job Title: Stadium Cleaner

Reports to: Stadium Hospitality Cleaning Manager

Location: Bloomfield Road, Blackpool

Hours: 30 hours per week, primarily 5:30am-11:30am, with flexibility to work weekends, matchdays and bank holidays as required.

Salary: Dependent on experience

Who we are:

Blackpool Football Club is an English Professional Association Football Club based in the seaside town of Blackpool, Lancashire.

The Club was founded in 1887 and has a very storied history, from being a founding member of the Lancashire League in 1889, rising to the Top-Flight of the Football League (the old First Division) in 1930, to winning the FA Cup in 1953 and being promoted to the Premier League in 2010 (becoming the first Club to gain promotion from every division of the Football League via the play-off system).

The Club currently competes in League One, the third tier of the English Football League.

The Club has played its home games at Bloomfield Road since 1901.

Job Purpose:

Blackpool Football Club is looking to appoint a reliable, proactive and hardworking Stadium Cleaner to join our Cleaning Team.

Reporting to the Stadium Hospitality Cleaning Manager, you will play an important role in ensuring Bloomfield Road is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation for supporters, visitors, staff and players.

Working across the Stadium and associated facilities, you will help create a safe, clean and welcoming environment for supporters, visitors, staff and players, supporting matchdays, conferences, events and the Club's day-to-day operations.

This is a hands-on role requiring excellent attention to detail, pride in your work and flexibility to meet the operational needs of a professional football club.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Cleaning & Facilities

  • Clean and maintain all designated Stadium areas, including hospitality lounges, concourses, seating areas, offices, corridors, stairwells, toilets and public spaces.
  • Carry out routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, sanitising surfaces and emptying bins.
  • Clean and replenish washrooms, ensuring high standards of hygiene are maintained throughout the day.
  • Prepare Stadium areas for matchdays, conferences, events and other Club activities.
  • Carry out deep cleaning activities as required.
  • Report maintenance issues, defects or health and safety concerns promptly.
  • Report any damage, maintenance requirements or security concerns identified during cleaning duties.
  • Ensure cleaning equipment is used safely, maintained appropriately and stored correctly.
  • Handle cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with COSHH regulations.
  • Ensure all designated areas are left clean, secure and locked where required.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Cleaning, Hospitality, Facilities and Maintenance.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties commensurate with the role.

Health & Safety

  • Comply with all Club Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Follow safe systems of work and COSHH guidance when handling cleaning chemicals.
  • Report accidents, hazards and near misses promptly.
  • Wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of colleagues and visitors.

Safeguarding

  • The role is subject to safer recruitment checks and will require a Basic DBS check, in line with the duties undertaken and applicable legislation.
  • The postholder will be required to complete and maintain all mandatory safeguarding training relevant to the role.

Desirable Requirement

Experience

  • Previous experience within a cleaning, housekeeping or facilities environment is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
  • Experience maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
  • Experience within a football stadium, hotel, leisure, hospitality or large public venue.
  • Experience using commercial cleaning equipment and machinery.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Good understanding of cleaning methods and hygiene standards.
  • Awareness of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
  • Basic understanding of COSHH principles.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work to agreed cleaning schedules and quality standards.
