Volunteer Football Coach

Duties

• Plan and execute engaging training sessions that improve players’ technical skills, fitness, and game understanding
• Teach fundamental football techniques, rules, and strategies in an age-appropriate manner
• Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive communication among players
• Provide constructive feedback to help athletes improve their performance and confidence
• Ensure safety protocols are followed during practices and games to prevent injuries
• Support team cohesion by organizing team-building activities and encouraging inclusive participation
• Collaborate with other coaches and program coordinators to coordinate schedules, events, and tournaments

Requirements

• Prior experience in sports coaching or playing football at any level is desirable however training provided
• Strong teaching skills with the ability to communicate effectively with youth of diverse backgrounds
• Passion for mentoring young people and promoting healthy physical activity
• Ability to motivate and inspire athletes while maintaining a positive attitude
• Knowledge of safety standards related to sports coaching and injury prevention
• Flexibility to commit to scheduled practices, games, and community events
• Willingness to undergo background checks as part of safeguarding youth participants
