Job Description

Bristol Sport is a unique sports business with the core aim of providing integral support services to ensure the sustainability of Stephen Lansdown’s sporting group of companies which includes Ashton Gate Stadium, Bristol City FC, Bristol Bears Rugby, Bristol Flyers Basketball, and their respective community charities.


The Digital Executive plays a pivotal role in the maintenance of high-quality, optimised digital content across the sporting group’s suite of websites and apps. This role involves handling enquiries, troubleshooting and solving problems and staying abreast of key digital and data trends in sports and entertainment. The Digital Executive is also be responsible for proactively researching and managing digital and data software projects, ensuring effective project management across multiple initiatives.

KEY OBJECTIVES

Web Management: Maintain high-quality, optimised content on the sporting group’s websites and apps.


Analytics and Optimisation: 
Utilise tools such as Google Analytics, Paid Socials, app-store optimisation, SEO, and WordPress to enhance digital performance.


Research and Trend Analysis: 
Proactively research key digital and data trends in the sports and entertainment verticals, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.


Project Management: 
Manage digital and data and projects across multiple initiatives, ensuring successful execution delivery.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (KPIs)

Website/App Performance Metrics: Monitor and improve key performance indicators related to website and app performance, including traffic, engagement, and conversion rates.

Digital Effectiveness: Evaluate the effectiveness of digital efforts through metrics such as click-through rates, conversion rates, and social media engagement. Work to commercialise our digital audiences, converting ‘unknown’ visitors to ‘known’ users.

Project Delivery: Ensure timely and successful completion of digital and data software projects within established timelines.

Digital Innovation: Stay informed of all digital innovation particularly within mobile, social media and video (e.g. evolving metadata algorithms).

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Proven experience in maintaining high-quality, optimised digital content.
  • A working understanding of SEO and page optimisation techniques
  • Experience in digital campaigns through third-party platforms including social media, Google and Previous
  • Experience in WordPress Websites and Hands-on experience in HTML and CSS
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a passion for data-driven decision-making.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work alone but also as part of a team

 

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Experience with marketing automation tools is a plus.
  • Proficiency in, Canva, digital marketing campaigns and strategies.
  • A strong technical understanding of Server Technologies and SSL implementation.
  • Knowledge of API Integrations and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in the sports industry would be an added advantage.

Salary: £26,364 per annum

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 5 out of 7 days, Monday to Friday, and the occasional evening and weekend matchdays
