Football Coach - Leeds United Foundation

Location: Elland Road, Leeds

Contract: Fixed Term (12 Months)

 

What You’ll Be Doing

We are looking for enthusiastic, passionate, and engaging Football Coaches to support the delivery of our Sports & Wellbeing and Women & Girls programmes across Leeds and Yorkshire.

This is an exciting opportunity to use the power of sport to positively impact children and young people while delivering high-quality football and multisport activities across schools, community venues, holiday programmes, technical centres, soccer schools, and girls' development programmes.

You will play a key role in creating safe, inclusive, and enjoyable environments where participants can develop their skills, confidence, and love of sport.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality football and sports coaching sessions across Foundation programmes.

Support the delivery of Sports & Wellbeing and Women & Girls programme objectives.

Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate sessions using programme coaching blueprints.

Support holiday courses, technical centres, soccer schools, girls' development programmes, and after-school clubs.

Complete session planning, registers, risk assessments, and safeguarding documentation.

Ensure all activity is delivered safely and in line with safeguarding and health & safety requirements.

Support the achievement of programme KPIs and participation targets.

Build positive relationships with children, young people, parents, schools, and community partners.

Promote the values and professionalism of Leeds United Foundation at all times.

Attend staff training, CPD events, and team meetings.

Utilise online technologies to support communication and programme delivery where appropriate.

Maintain compliance with Foundation policies, safeguarding standards, GDPR, and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion requirements.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll have:

FA Level 1 Coaching Qualification (minimum).

FA Youth Award Modules 1 & 2.

FA Licensed Coach status.

FA First Aid Qualification.

FA Safeguarding Children Certificate.

Eligibility to pass an Enhanced DBS check.

Own transport and ability to travel across Leeds and Yorkshire.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and online technologies.

Experience

Experience delivering football coaching sessions.

Experience working with children and young people.

Experience planning and delivering engaging coaching programmes.

Experience working within schools, community settings, football programmes, or sports projects.

Experience implementing safeguarding procedures and maintaining player welfare.

Experience completing coaching administration, including risk assessments and registers.
