Job Description

Emmanuel University, located in northeast Georgia, is seeking an Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach to assist with the Women’s Soccer program.

 

Summary: Under the daily supervision of the head coach, the Assistant Coach is also responsible for the recruitment, retention, spiritual development, and academic success of student-athletes. In addition to coaching, this position aids with the Head Coach in areas including travel, budget, scheduling, and fundraising. The assistant coach will be responsible for maintaining compliance with and must have knowledge of all NCAA Division II, Conference Carolinas, and University rules and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions in Assisting the Head Coach:

  • Conduct programs in accordance with the NCAA regulations, Conference Carolinas guidelines, and within the philosophy of Emmanuel University.
  • Provide a positive atmosphere that promotes a sense of fairness, organization, commitment, motivation, accomplishment, and fun.
  • Accept responsibility for the behavior of the team during practices, contests, and any other team related activities.
  • Teach, assist, and instruct aspects of strength and conditioning.
  • Teach, assist, and instruct aspects of nutrition.
  • Teach, assist, and instruct aspects of player development.
  • Teach, assist, and instruct aspects of achieving high academic performance.
  • All other duties as assigned by the head coach

Secondary Functions in Assisting the Head Coach

  • Stay current concerning rule changes, training techniques, and game strategies in their respective sports.
  • Keep accurate records of student-athlete participation, and general team data.
  • Develop and implement strategies for recruiting exceptional student-athletes to attend Emmanuel University.

    This position is ideal for the person looking to start a career as a collegiate soccer coach. Applicants must be eligible for work in the US. This position does not qualify for employment sponsorship.

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    Bachelor’s degree required. Coaching experience at a club or high school preferred and/or collegiate playing experience. The candidate must be self-motivated and should agree to uphold and support the mission of the institution and be able to mentor, organize, and motivate their student athletes.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

    Knowledge and understanding of coaching, recruiting, and program administration. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Thorough knowledge of all aspects of the game of soccer. Must demonstrate strong work ethic, customer service, and strong communication skills.
