Job Summary
The Cheltenham Town Development Centre is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Coach to join our team at the Cheltenham Site. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality coaching sessions to young players, fostering their development in a supportive environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of aspiring athletes and promote a love of sport within the local community. The position is paid and suitable for individuals passionate about sports coaching and teaching.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging coaching sessions tailored to various age groups and skill levels
  • Support players in developing technical abilities, tactical understanding, and teamwork skills
  • Monitor player progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe environment for all participants
  • Collaborate with other coaches and staff to organise training schedules and events
  • Maintain equipment and ensure the training area remains clean, safe, and well-organised
  • Assist in organising community outreach programmes and school visits related to sports development

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sports coaching or teaching, with a strong understanding of football or relevant sports
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of motivating and inspiring young athletes
  • A recognised coaching qualification or willingness to undertake relevant training courses
  • Passionate about youth development through sport with a commitment to fostering a positive environment
  • Organised, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required
