About the Role:

We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced Sports Doctor to join our medical department as a Part-time First Team Doctor. Working three days per week (0.6 FTE) at our training ground, the successful candidate will provide essential clinical support to the Head Doctor in the daily medical management of the Men’s First Team squad.

This role requires a practitioner who is comfortable operating in the fast-paced, high-stakes environment of Premier League football. You will be a key figure in the multi-disciplinary team, contributing to player health, injury prevention, and performance optimisation.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level clinical care and medical services to First Team players during your three days on-site.

  • Assist the Head Doctor with daily medical screenings, injury assessments, and the management of acute illnesses.

  • Coordinate with the physiotherapy and sports science departments to ensure a holistic approach to player welfare and recovery.

  • Maintain meticulous electronic medical records in compliance with GMC standards and Premier League regulations.

  • Support the delivery of cardiac screening, Head injury Assessments and baseline testing and any other mandatory medical requirements for the professional squad.

  • Provide medical cover at the stadium on match days, with the ability to act as the Tunnel Doctor being a significant advantage.

  • Covering sessions the Women’s team and Academy squads when required.

What are we looking for:

  • Extensive experience in elite sport is required, preferably within a professional football setting.

  • Ability to commit to three days per week at the club's training facilities.

  • Flexibility to work weekends and evenings to provide match-day cover at the City Ground.

  • Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent)

  • GMC registration.

  • A postgraduate qualification in Sports and Exercise Medicine (e.g., MSc or Diploma) or Emergency Medicine Training is an advantage.

  • Current ATMMiF (Advanced Trauma Medical Management in Football)

  • Proficiency in additional languages (Spanish, Portuguese, or French) is an advantage, though not essential.
