As part of York City FC’s progression to a Category 4 EFL Academy, the football club is now recruiting for an experienced, proactive and inspirational individual to work within our Academy Medical Team.

Please note the post holder will need to be in post for the 1st July 2026. Because of the tight turnaround time we reserve the right to interview suitable candidates before the interview date.

Main Purpose of Role:

Duties and Responsibilities

The post holder will be expected to:

·        To provide musculoskeletal assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, exercise prescription and appropriate referral to the club’s Academy players (U18)

·        To provide emergency aid at Youth Team games (U18). Academy games may be required as cover. Academy games are typically staffed by an Academy therapist.

·        To work within the scope and practice outlined by York City Football Club’s Medical & Sports Science Policy and within your own professional regulatory body codes of practice.

·        To contribute to and promote a positive and professional working environment when working with all internal and external stakeholders.

·        To liaise/report with the wider multidisciplinary team and academy management team.

·        To support playing staff post-emergency situations and at private external consultations.

·        To record, report and complete all administrative duties associated with the role of a lead practitioner within the club.

·        To contribute to your own personal continued professional development, in accordance with the needs of your regulatory body and the needs of the role at the club.

Social Conditions

The post holder will be primarily based at York City Training Ground or The LNER Community Stadium as well as variety of training venues. Some off-site working will be necessary to carry out the duties of the post.

Economic Conditions

This is a full-time position with a salary of £26,000 p.a. The post holder is entitled to 20 days of annual leave per year, York City FC staff kit will be provided along with 1 x first team season ticket for personal use.

This position may from time to time involve contact with children, young people, or vulnerable adults. In addition, completion of The FA Introduction to First Aid and Safeguarding Children courses is mandatory for the role.
