Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Lead Coach & Programme Coordinator to lead the technical coaching programme and oversee the day-to-day delivery of our UK Academy operations.

The successful candidate will lead the technical coaching team and coach players from U16 through to Senior level, while supporting all operational and pastoral aspects of the academy.

The role will involve travel, with a requirement to reside at the academy residential facility three nights per week. Meals will be provided during residential stay-overs. Use of a club car will be available for business use only.

Essential Requirements

  • UEFA A Licence
  • Up-to-date First Aid qualification
  • Up-to-date DBS
  • Ability to drive a manual minibus
  • D1 licence advantageous but not essential
  • Required to stay at academy facility 3 nights per week (pease do no apply if cannot satisfy this essential element)

Key Responsibilities

Programme Planning & Delivery

  • Create weekly training plans incorporating technical work, fixtures and sports science sessions
  • Plan and deliver structured, high-quality coaching sessions
  • Organise friendly fixtures when calendar space allows
  • Lead the team on match days (Wednesdays and Saturdays)

Player Management & Welfare

  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, discipline and professionalism
  • Conduct weekly room inspections
  • Ensure all players follow academy rules and expectations
  • Monitor player welfare, including sickness, injuries and general wellbeing
  • Produce twice-yearly player reports
  • Hold follow-up player report meetings with parents and players
  • Organise enrichment activities and off-site trips for player development

Staff Leadership & Coordination

  • Manage staff, assign responsibilities and produce weekly rotas
  • Work alongside sports science and strength & conditioning teams
  • Uphold consistent behaviour standards across all staff interactions

Fixture Management & Logistics

  • Organise home fixtures, including pitch bookings and referee arrangements
  • Attend AGMs and work with governing bodies
  • Liaise with away teams to confirm all match details
  • Communicate match information via the academy WhatsApp group
  • Arrange drivers for fixtures and drive team vehicles when required
  • Ensure Veo equipment is set up and live-streaming for families overseas

Operational Coordination

  • Liaise with kitchen staff regarding attendance, meal requirements and packed lunch numbers
  • Maintain coaching equipment and order replacements when needed
  • Keep academy communication platforms updated with fixtures, results and announcements

External Relations

  • Communicate with parents and support them with any concerns
  • Build and maintain relationships with football clubs to create opportunities for academy players
  • Maintain relationships with County FAs, The FA and other stakeholders
  • Report directly to the Sporting Director and Managing Director
