Job Overview
To deliver high-quality football training sessions in line with We Make Footballers’ product standards. The Lead Coach supports the Academy Manager by leading coaching delivery for their group, ensuring children are engaged, learning, and having fun. The Lead Coach also helps guide and develop Assistant Coaches to deliver sessions confidently and effectively.

Duties

  • Deliver engaging, age-appropriate football sessions following the We Make Footballers session plans and structure
  • Lead your group’s warm up, drills, and matches, ensuring all activities align with the 10-10-10-30 format
  • Support the Academy Manager in maintaining high standards across all coaching groups
  • Eventually mentor and guide Assistant Coaches, helping them learn how to lead drills and develop their coaching confidence
  • Ensure players are grouped appropriately by ability and feel welcomed, supported, and challenged
  • Communicate clearly with the coaching team before and during sessions

Main Responsibilities

  • Upon arrival help with the set up the equipment needed for the session
  • Uphold all health and safety protocols
  • Maintain a positive, professional attitude towards players, parents, and team members
  • Ensure all sessions are inclusive, high energy, and fun for players of all ability levels
  • Contribute to packing away and ensuring all equipment is counted and stored correctly

Required Availability

  • Allocated sessions; for sessions that will require additional support
  • Minimum arrival time: 30 minutes before the session begins

Safeguarding and Compliance

The Lead Coach must carry out their responsibilities with due regard to We Make Footballers policies and procedures. They must always act in line with safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the welfare of children. A valid DBS certificate and completion of the Thinkific coaching course is required, in particular the first aid and safeguarding modules.

Any misconduct or concerns must be reported to the Academy Manager, Franchise Owner or Head Office team.

Pay: £13.00-£17.00 per hour
