About the Football and Administration Team:
The Football Administration and Operations team is dedicated to ensuring that all football-related activities run smoothly and efficiently, providing vital support to players, coaches, and staff alike.
We manage a wide range of responsibilities, from coordinating match schedules and player logistics to overseeing compliance with league regulations.
The Opportunity:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of a first-class laundry service for all football teams based at the Academy of Light. This includes ensuring reliable cover across all assigned shifts and rota requirements to support continuous and uninterrupted service delivery.
You will ensure all equipment is kept clean, well maintained, and in good working order, while taking responsibility for the effective upkeep, servicing, and functionality of all laundry machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Duties will include washing, drying, ironing, and storing kits efficiently so that all items are prepared and available as required, while ensuring all kit is stored and presented to a high standard.
The role requires strict adherence to all washing guidelines and laundering requirements specified for each item of kit, alongside operating machinery in accordance with manufacturer guidance and company policy. You will also be responsible for managing stock levels of all equipment and supplies required to operate machinery, monitoring cleaning materials, and reporting any kit damages or shortages.
In addition, you will oversee stock control of all kit and equipment, ensuring accuracy and organisation at all times. Maintaining the cleanliness and overall presentation of both the kit and the kit room is a key part of the role.
A strong commitment to health and safety is essential, with responsibility for adhering to and promoting strict standards to maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
What We Ask For:
Candidates will ideally have experience working within a professional sports environment or football club, along with knowledge of laundry processes, equipment maintenance, and relevant safety standards. A high level of attention to detail and pride in presentation is essential, as is the ability to work flexibly in line with training schedules, travel, and matchday requirements.
An understanding of safeguarding policies within a sporting environment is important, alongside strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. A valid driving licence is preferred but not essential.
An Enhanced DBS from Sunderland AFC is required.
