FC MIDTJYLLAND OFFERS A STUDY PROGRAMME AS A HEADER SPECIALIST / COORDINATOR IN THE PERIOD FROM 1 MARCH 2026 TO 30 MAY 2027, IN COLLABORATION WITH ISI HØJSKOLEN.

are looking for an open-minded, structured, independent, and dedicated intern with a strong interest in individual
player development, heading training, and coordination with other specialists. This internship is ideal for candidates
who want to turn theory into practice and invest in a future career within elite football.

FC Midtjylland welcomes applicants who are currently enrolled in a relevant educational programme or who have
recently graduated.


ABOUT THE ROLE
The internship will be placed within the Academy Individual Development Department, working with academy
players. The intern will act as an Individual Heading Coach / Coordinator, responsible for supporting, planning, and
executing structured heading training. The intern will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of coaches and
specialists and will be embedded in the daily life at the training ground.


ASSIGNMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•     Plan, structure, and coordinate heading training for a targeted group of players
•     Design and deliver individual and small-group heading sessions in collaboration with FCM coaches and
specialists
•     Support the implementation of a methodological framework for heading training
•     Collaborate with team coaches, specialists, and performance staff
•     Observe, analyse, and reflect on training and match performance related to heading
•     Support the coaching staff in daily academy operations
•     Contribute to the high-level Header Project Steering Committee


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
•     Strong interpersonal and communication skills
•     Honest, structured, and able to set clear standards and motivate players
•     Strong interest in individual player development and specialist coaching
•     Good football understanding (not a requirement)
•     Knowledge of, or curiosity about, heading technique, perception, timing, and decision-making
•     Structured, reflective, and detail-oriented working style
•     Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative environment
•     Fluency in English, both spoken and written
•     Appreciation for an informal, ambitious, and learning-oriented culture
Coaching experience or an educational background in sports science, coaching, or pedagogy is an advantage but
not a requirement.


LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
In addition to daily work at the club, the intern will attend a local Sports School, including:
•     UEFA C Coaching Education
•     Introduction to FC Midtjylland’s Style of Play
•     Insights into specialist areas within elite football
•     Understanding Danish football culture and academy structures


PRACTICAL INFORMATION
•     The internship position is unpaid
•     FC Midtjylland will cover board and lodging
•     All interns live at IBF Arena (single rooms) next to the training ground
•     Start date: 1 March 2026
