We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Assistant Football Coach to join our coaching team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting player development across all age groups in a fun, safe, and challenging environment.

This role is ideal for someone looking to begin or progress their coaching journey and gain valuable hands-on experience within a club environment while working towards their FA coaching qualifications.

As an Assistant Coach, you will support lead coaches in planning and delivering engaging training sessions, promoting positive play, and helping players develop both technically and socially across a range of age groups within the club.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in delivering age-appropriate training sessions in line with the club’s philosophy.
  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and enjoyable environment for all players.
  • Support lead coaches during training sessions and match days (typically evenings and weekends).
  • Assist with matchday organisation, warm-ups, and player management.
  • Communicate effectively with players, parents, coaches, and club staff.
  • Encourage player development, confidence, teamwork, and enjoyment of the game.
  • Help maintain high standards of behaviour, safeguarding, and professionalism across all age groups.
  • Assist with setting up and organising equipment before and after sessions.

Requirements

  • No FA coaching qualifications required to apply.
  • A genuine passion for football coaching and working with young players.
  • Willingness to learn and work towards completing the FA Introduction to Coaching Football / FA Level 1 qualification.
  • Good communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
  • Reliable, enthusiastic, and eager to develop within a coaching environment.
  • Previous coaching or playing experience is beneficial but not essential.
  • Enhanced DBS check preferred (or willingness to obtain one).
