Job Overview The First Team Physiotherapist will be responsible for the daily delivery of physiotherapy services to First Team players, ensuring the highest standards of injury assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and injury prevention. Working closely with the Lead Rehabilitation Physiotherapist, Club Doctor and Performance Department, the postholder will play a key role in maximising player availability, reducing injury risk and supporting optimal physical performance throughout the season. The successful candidate will provide expert clinical care, oversee the management of acute and chronic injuries, contribute to return-to-play decision-making, and support the implementation of evidence-based medical and performance strategies within a high-performance football environment. ROLE DESCRIPTION: Founded in 1907, Rochdale AFC is an established professional football club, with the men’s first team competing in EFL League Two for 2026/27, and the women’s first team competing in the North West Women’s Regional League (Division One Central) for 2026/27. We are involved in a broad range of sporting, commercial, and charitable activities, with a controlling stake in the club acquired by The Ogden Family in May 2024. To strengthen and further develop our women’s first team staff, we are looking to recruit a Physiotherapist / Sports Therapist, who ideally will have previous experience in a similar role. The role will be part-time, on a sessional basis, overseeing all women’s first team fixtures as well as providing medical support to the squad at least one training session per week.
