MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB The Portland Timbers MLS Next Pro Goalkeeper coach is responsible for coaching and managing the MLS Next Pro goalkeepers within a coaching framework established by the Timbers Head Coach, Timbers GK coach, and the MLS Next Pro Head Coach. In coordination with the MLS Next Pro coaching staff, the MLS Next Pro GK Coach will contribute to the design training sessions for the entire team while focusing on the development and individual needs of the goalkeepers, along with other team duties as assigned. Match preparation is a key component of the MLS Next Pro GK Coach’s role. The MLS Next Pro GK Coach will handle opposition scouting is it relates to attacking and defensive set pieces. Additional duties include but are not limited to scouting college prospects and participating in off-season player development programs.
