1:1 Football Development Coach

Job Description

1:1 Football Development Coach

PCE Football – Grays, Essex
£15–£20 per hour | Part-time | Regular weekly hours

PCE Football is growing, and we're looking for a confident, reliable football coach to lead our new 1:1 Individual Development Programme in Grays.

This isn't a casual cover-coaching role. We're looking for someone who can commit to a regular weekly coaching block, working with the same players each week and taking ownership of their individual development.

The role

You'll deliver back-to-back 1:1 sessions with young players, typically aged 6–12.

Each player will have individual development priorities, and you'll be responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality sessions designed around those goals.

You'll work with players over the longer term, allowing you to build relationships, track their progress and adapt their programme as they develop.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who:

  • Can commit to the same weekly coaching block
  • Is confident delivering sessions independently
  • Can adapt coaching to an individual player's ability and development needs
  • Is energetic, engaging and excellent with children
  • Communicates professionally with players, parents and the PCE team
  • Is organised and reliable
  • Wants to develop as a coach and take ownership of their players

Previous grassroots, academy or football coaching experience is strongly preferred.

FA qualifications are desirable, but we're also interested in promising coaches who demonstrate strong coaching ability and the right attitude.

What PCE provides

  • Players - you don't need to find your own clients
  • Regular, back-to-back coaching hours
  • Session and curriculum support
  • Player assessment framework
  • Equipment
  • Ongoing support from our Lead Coach
  • Opportunities for additional coaching across PCE as we grow

Hours

Initially approximately 3–4 hours per week, delivered as one consistent block of back-to-back 1:1 sessions.

There is potential for additional hours as demand grows.

Reliability is particularly important for this position. Players will have recurring weekly slots, so we're specifically looking for someone who can make a consistent weekly commitment rather than someone seeking occasional coaching work.

Pay

£15–£20 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.

Requirements

Successful applicants will need the appropriate safeguarding and DBS clearance to work with children. PCE can support the successful candidate through our onboarding and compliance process.

If you're passionate about player development and would like to take ownership of a group of young players' individual development, we'd love to hear from you.

Pay: £15.00-£20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 4.0 per week

Work Location: In person
