Role Purpose

The Training Ground Operations Assistant is a unique opportunity to join the Facilities Team in delivering a safe, clean and professional training environment for players, staff and visitors. This is a hands-on, physical role, responsible for daily site upkeep, logistics, maintenance support and general operational duties across the training ground.

The ideal candidate will be practical, reliable and able to adapt quickly to changing daily requirements, with a proactive approach and a willingness to “get stuck in” wherever needed.

What You Will Be Doing

You will play a key role in the daily operation of the training ground by maintaining a tidy, well‑presented and professional environment across all internal and external areas through practical caretaking duties such as litter picking, emptying bins and jet washing. You will assist with receiving deliveries, unloading and loading goods, moving items around the site, and ensuring everything is stored safely and appropriately. You will support routine maintenance tasks and checks, minor repairs, equipment movement and general upkeep to help keep the site functioning smoothly. The role also involves supporting wider operational needs including room set‑ups, equipment moves and day‑to‑day problem solving, while consistently following site safety procedures, using equipment correctly, reporting hazards and maintaining safe working practices. You will work collaboratively with colleagues, coaches, performance staff and contractors to meet daily operational requirements and uphold the standards expected within a professional football environment.

Shift Pattern

24 hours per week (over 3 days)

Characteristics

Well-presented and professional.
Team‑oriented and able to work effectively with colleagues.
Physically capable of standing for extended periods and working outdoors.
No previous experience required — full training provided.
Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be over 18.
