Awarded Major League Soccer’s 16th franchise in 2008, the Philadelphia Union officially took the pitch in 2010 and have been raising expectations ever since. Owned and operated by Union Sports & Entertainment, the Philadelphia Union call Subaru Park home—an 18,500-seat, world-class, soccer-specific stadium set along the Delaware River beneath the Commodore Barry Bridge, just 15 miles from downtown Philadelphia.
On the field, the Union have established themselves as one of Major League Soccer’s most consistent and competitive clubs. The team reached the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final three times (2014, 2015, and 2018), made multiple MLS Cup Playoff appearances, and captured the Supporters’ Shield in 2020 and again in 2025, recognizing the club’s excellence and consistency across the regular season. The Union also hosted the Eastern Conference Final in 2021, were crowned Eastern Conference Champions in 2022, and advanced to the MLS Cup Final that same year in one of the most thrilling matches in league history. The club has continued to represent Philadelphia on the international stage through participation in the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Video Production Coordinator is a creative, hands-on individual contributor responsible for independently producing compelling video content that brings the Philadelphia Union brand and stories to life across digital, social, broadcast, in-stadium, marketing, and other platforms.
Reporting to the Manager, Video Production, this position manages assigned video projects from concept through final delivery and exercises independent creative judgment regarding storytelling approach, production techniques, shot selection, editing, pacing, and final presentation.
The ideal candidate combines strong creative instincts with technical production expertise and sound judgment. This role requires the ability to independently prioritize projects, make creative and production decisions, collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, and adapt quickly in the fast-paced environment of professional sports.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Video Production & Creative Execution
- Independently plan, produce, shoot, and edit assigned video projects from concept through final delivery.
- Determine appropriate creative and technical approaches for assigned productions based on project objectives, audience, platform, and brand standards.
- Lead the execution of assigned on-location and studio productions, including player and coach interviews, promotional shoots, podcasts, marketing campaigns, community events, corporate partnership activations, and other organizational initiatives.
- Make creative decisions regarding shot composition, lighting, audio, camera setup, interview presentation, and other production elements.
- Operate professional cameras, lighting, audio, and related production equipment.
- Capture compelling content during Philadelphia Union home matches, including match action, fan experiences, behind-the-scenes moments, interviews, and other storytelling opportunities.
- Identify and capture relevant content opportunities as they arise during matches, events, practices, and other live environments.
- Travel is required for select Philadelphia Union away matches throughout the season to capture and produce team content. Additional travel may be required for organizational events, activations, tournaments, and other business needs.
Editing & Post-Production
- Independently edit short- and long-form video projects, exercising creative judgment regarding story structure, footage selection, pacing, music, graphics, sound, and overall presentation.
- Develop platform-specific versions of content for social media, web, broadcast, in-stadium presentation, and other digital channels.
- Incorporate graphics, animation, music, sound design, color correction, and other post-production elements as appropriate.
- Evaluate footage and determine the strongest content and storytelling approach for assigned projects.
- Manage revisions and stakeholder feedback while maintaining project objectives, brand standards, and creative quality.
- Ensure final content meets Philadelphia Union brand standards and applicable technical specifications.
- Prepare, organize, archive, and maintain video footage and project files for future organizational use.
Content Development & Storytelling
- Collaborate with Marketing, Content, Communications, Corporate Partnerships, Ticketing, and other departments to assess content needs and recommend effective video solutions.
- Develop and pitch original concepts for social content, marketing campaigns, player features, matchday content, podcasts, branded content, and other storytelling initiatives.
- Translate organizational objectives and creative briefs into effective video concepts and finished content.
- Identify compelling storytelling opportunities involving players, coaches, supporters, employees, partners, community programs, and other aspects of the Philadelphia Union organization.
- Make recommendations regarding content format, creative approach, platform, length, and presentation based on the intended audience and objective.
- Stay current on video production, social media, sports, entertainment, and digital content trends and apply relevant techniques and approaches to Union content.
Project Ownership & Collaboration
- Take ownership of assigned video projects from initial planning through production, post-production, revisions, and final delivery.
- Independently prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines based on organizational needs and established objectives.
- Consult with internal stakeholders to clarify project goals, recommend creative approaches, and resolve production challenges.
- Exercise judgment in addressing creative, technical, and logistical issues that arise during production and post-production.
- Coordinate necessary assets, information, approvals, production schedules, and other resources required to complete assigned projects.
- Maintain organized project documentation, footage, production files, and digital asset libraries.
- Maintain video production equipment and identify equipment or resource needs related to assigned productions.
- Collaborate closely with the broader creative team while maintaining individual accountability for assigned projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Film, Video Production, Communications, Media, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- 3+ years of professional video production experience, including demonstrated experience independently shooting, producing, and editing video content.
- Strong portfolio or demo reel demonstrating video production, editing, visual storytelling, and creative decision-making capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or comparable professional non-linear editing software.
- Working knowledge of professional camera systems, lenses, lighting, audio equipment, and video production workflows.
- Strong understanding of composition, lighting, audio, pacing, editing, and visual storytelling.
- Experience creating and optimizing video content for multiple digital and social platforms.
- Strong creative judgment and ability to recommend solutions based on project objectives, audience, and platform.
- Ability to independently organize and prioritize multiple projects while meeting established deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing polished, high-quality work.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment where priorities and production needs may change quickly.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Proficiency with Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and other Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
- Experience with motion graphics, animation, and visual effects.
- Familiarity with multi-camera recording environments, including podcasts, studio productions, and broadcast environments.
- Knowledge of YouTube strategy, publishing, and platform best practices.
- Experience producing vertical and short-form content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other emerging platforms.
- Photography experience.
- Experience working within professional or collegiate sports, entertainment, media, or live events.
WORK REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business and team needs, including nights, weekends, holidays, and Philadelphia Union matchdays.
- Regular matchday availability is required, including home matches and designated away matches.
- Travel to select Philadelphia Union away matches is a required function of this position and may include overnight, weekend, and multi-day travel.
- Additional travel may be required for events, activations, tournaments, and other organizational initiatives.
- Ability to work on-site in Chester, PA, and at other Philadelphia Union locations and event venues as required.
- Ability to safely transport, set up, and operate video production equipment as required for shoots and events.
