Blackpool Football Club is an English Professional Association Football Club based in the seaside town of Blackpool, Lancashire.

The Club was founded in 1887 and has a very storied history, from being a founding member of the Lancashire League in 1889, rising to the top flight of the Football League (the old First Division) in 1930, to winning the FA Cup in 1953 and being promoted to the Premier League in 2010 (becoming the first Club to gain promotion from every division of the Football League via the play-off system).

The Club currently competes in League One, the third tier of the English Football League.

The Club has played its home games at Bloomfield Road since 1901.

Job Purpose:

Blackpool Football Club is looking to appoint friendly, reliable and customer focused Matchday Car Park Stewards to join our Matchday Support Team.

Based at the North Car Park at Bloomfield Road, the Matchday Car Park Steward will play an important role in ensuring the safe, efficient and welcoming arrival and departure of supporters, visitors, staff and Club guests on matchdays.

The postholder will act as one of the first points of contact for visitors entering the Stadium, checking parking permissions, directing vehicles to the appropriate parking areas and helping to maintain the safe and orderly movement of vehicles and pedestrians throughout the car park.

The role will also support the safe exit of vehicles following matches, ensuring appropriate care and attention is given to pedestrians and other road users.

This is a customer facing, outdoor role which requires the postholder to remain on their feet for extended periods and walk varying distances around the car park. The successful candidate will therefore need to be comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions and able to remain professional, approachable and attentive throughout the duration of a shift.

No previous experience is required, as full guidance and role-specific training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide clear directions and assistance to visitors entering and leaving the Stadium.
  • Monitor vehicle movements throughout the car park and help maintain safe and orderly traffic flow.
  • Ensure drivers follow designated routes, signage and applicable speed restrictions within the car park.
  • Remain alert to potential hazards, obstructions or unsafe behaviour and report concerns promptly to the Ground Safety Manager or appropriate member of the Matchday Support Team.
  • Support the safe management of vehicle movements before, during and after matches.
  • Assist with the safe and orderly exit of vehicles following matches, paying particular attention to pedestrians and other vulnerable road users.
  • Work closely with the Ground Safety Manager, stewards, security personnel and other Matchday Support Team members to support the safe operation of the Stadium.

  • Remain vigilant and report any hazards, accidents, incidents or security concerns promptly.
  • Assist with maintaining clear access routes and ensuring emergency access points are not obstructed.
  • Follow instructions relating to emergency procedures, evacuation arrangements and incident management.
  • Never place yourself or others at unnecessary risk and seek assistance where an incident or situation is beyond the scope of the role.
  • Wear any required uniform, identification or personal protective equipment as directed by the Club.

General Responsibilities

  • Promote and uphold the values, culture and behaviours of Blackpool Football Club.
  • Promote a professional image of the Club at all times.
