Maintenance Support – Fives Trafford

Location: FIVES Trafford, 11 Trafford Way, Trafford Park, Manchester
Hours: Part Time – 8–10 hours per week
Shifts: 2 shifts per week (Day time / Off Peak)
Reporting to: General Manager

We're looking for a reliable, practical and hands-on Maintenance Support Assistant to join the team at Fives Trafford.

The Role

This is a practical role focused on keeping our pitches and facilities safe, clean and match-ready.

You'll work approximately 8–10 hours per week across two shifts, taking ownership of routine pitch and facility maintenance.

You'll be someone who takes pride in their work, notices the small things and doesn't wait to be asked when something needs attention.

Your Two Weekly Maintenance Shifts - Day times shifts*

Each shift will have a clear maintenance routine, including:

Pitch & Facility Maintenance

• Sweeping and clearing pitches
• Removing debris, leaves and general waste
• Checking pitch surfaces and surrounding areas
• Checking goals, nets, fencing and pitch equipment
• Carrying out minor repairs where appropriate
• Reporting larger repairs or issues to the General Manager
• Checking and maintaining high netting and ball-stop areas
• Identifying damaged or worn equipment
• Keeping walkways, entrances and customer areas tidy
• Supporting general site maintenance and presentation

Weekly Checks

• Complete routine pitch and facility checks
• Identify maintenance issues before they become bigger problems
• Keep a simple record of completed work and outstanding issues
• Make sure the centre is ready for customers and football every week

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is:

• Practical – confident using basic tools and equipment
• Reliable – able to consistently complete two shifts every week
• Proactive – sees a problem and takes action
• Detail-focused – notices things others might overlook
• Safety-conscious – understands the importance of maintaining a safe facility
• Independent – comfortable working through a maintenance checklist without constant supervision
• Proud of their work – cares about how the centre looks and performs

Previous maintenance, facilities, groundskeeping, sports facility or similar experience would be useful, but attitude and reliability are just as important.
