Overview
CPS Football Academy is one of the North West's leading technical football development academies, delivering high-quality coaching to players aged 3–15 across multiple venues in Bolton.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Goalkeeper Coach to join our specialist coaching team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with goalkeepers of varying ages and abilities in a professional, player-centred environment that focuses on long-term technical development.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about developing young goalkeepers, enjoys building confidence in players, and takes pride in delivering engaging, high-quality coaching sessions.
Hours
This is currently an evening-based coaching position, with opportunities for additional hours through camps, events, and future academy growth.
For candidates with outfield coaching experience, there are also opportunities to coach our outfield academy sessions on additional evenings if desired.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality goalkeeper coaching sessions.
- Develop the technical, tactical, physical and psychological aspects of goalkeeping.
- Create a positive, challenging and enjoyable learning environment.
- Monitor player development and provide constructive feedback to players and parents.
- Maintain the high coaching standards expected across CPS Football Academy.
- Work closely with the wider coaching team to support the overall development of academy players.
- Contribute positively to the culture and environment of the academy.
- Support academy camps, events and specialist goalkeeper sessions throughout the year.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Previous experience coaching goalkeepers or playing as a goalkeeper to a high standard.
- Excellent communication and coaching skills.
- Passion for developing young goalkeepers.
- Reliable, professional and enthusiastic attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a coaching team.
Desirable:
- UEFA Goalkeeping Coaching qualification.
- UEFA C Licence or above.
- Experience working within an academy or player development environment.
- Experience coaching players across a range of age groups.
- Ambition to continue developing as a specialist goalkeeper coach.
