ICWFC is an inclusive club both at a football and personal level. We are open to women and non-binary players of all abilities. The club expanded in the 2023-24 academic year to have a fourth team, accommodating beginners and inspiring postgraduate students with busy schedules to get involved with the sport. We are thrilled to have welcomed the addition of a futsal team in the 2024-25 season, thanks to our team’s continually growing popularity. The increasing visibility of women’s football in recent years, as well as the formidable club that ICWFC is both on and off-pitch have created the perfect combination for growth, and we may be looking to expand the club even further in future.
As well as attracting beginners, ICWFC is attractive to advanced players as competition is abundant with the 1s and 2s. This coming 25/26 season, the 1s are competing in BUCS South Eastern Tier 2 and aim to win the league, as well as defend their South Eastern Conference Cup title. And after back to back promotions, the 2s were competing for the BUCS South Eastern Tier 3 title last year again, being top of the table until the last match of the season. They are a strong squad ready to fight for first place next year! The 3rd team is fully established with impeccable coaches, ready to develop the team, and individual players’ abilities. Our final team is a mixed abilities team, competing weekly on Sundays in the intermediate LUSL league.
We run weekly trainings, and play matches on Wednesdays (BUCS) and Sundays (LUSL). We also have two huge varsities against LSE and Imperial Faculty of Medicine, which hundreds of students attend, both of which we have won consecutively for the last two years!
