THE OPPORTUNITY
Mount Hamilton United Soccer Club is recruiting qualified Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches for its U13 to U17 Boys and Girls
teams in the Ontario Player Development League. OPDL is Ontario Soccer's standards-based high-performance youth training and
competition program, with defined expectations for coach education, technical delivery, player development, safeguarding, and
match-day conduct.
These roles are intended for coaches who can lead within a collaborative high-performance environment, apply a clear game model
and periodized development plan, and consistently place the long-term needs of the individual player ahead of short-term team
results.
ABOUT MOUNT HAMILTON UNITED SOCCER CLUB
Mount Hamilton United Soccer Club provides an integrated pathway from grassroots and Academy programming through OPDL and
senior competitive soccer. Our high-performance program combines qualified coaching, structured training, technical oversight,
player assessment, video analysis, sport-science support, and meaningful competition to help players progress within the Ontario
and Canada Soccer talented pathway.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead or support a year-round, periodized team program aligned with the MHUSC technical plan, game model, and OPDL
technical standards.
• Plan and deliver high-quality training sessions that develop the technical, tactical, physical, psychological, and social capacities of
each player.
• Prepare and manage OPDL matches, showcases, cups, exhibitions, and pathway events in accordance with league regulations and
club standards.
• Complete player evaluations, individual development plans, player profiles, technical and fitness submissions, and pathway
recommendations by established deadlines.
• Use match video and performance information to support player learning, team analysis, and evidence-based coaching decisions.
• Work collaboratively with the Technical Director, coaching staff, goalkeeper coaches, athletic therapists, operations staff, and
Ontario Soccer personnel.
• Maintain accurate session plans, attendance, roster, player-availability, game-sheet, substitution, equipment, and administrative
records.
• Model professional conduct and ensure a safe, inclusive, disciplined, and player-centred environment at all training, match, travel,
and club activities
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Successful candidates will demonstrate the maturity, technical knowledge, leadership, and consistency required in a standards-based
high-performance environment. Appointment to a specific team and role will depend on licensing, experience, suitability, availability,
and OPDL approval.
• Experience coaching competitive or high-performance youth players, with a strong understanding of age- and stage-appropriate
development.
• A player-centred approach, clear communication, emotional control, sound judgment, and professional sideline behaviour.
• The ability to design purposeful training, analyze match performance, provide actionable feedback, and collaborate within a
multidisciplinary staff.
• Strong organization and accountability for OPDL documentation, deadlines, team administration, and communication with players and
families.
• Regular evening and weekend availability, including travel throughout Ontario for league matches, events, and coach-development
activities.
