Job Description
FC Midtjylland will inaugurate two hybrid football pitches at Dream99 in Ikast in August and is looking for a student who will help keep them in top shape from day one.
You will be part of a small dedicated groundsman team led by our Head Groundsman, Morten Sylvestersen. Here you will not only learn how to mow grass – you will learn exactly how professional football pitches are built, maintained and perform under the demands of the top-level game.
The position
As a groundsman student, you can either start with the basic course for Greenkeeper and Groundsman or join an apprenticeship at FC Midtjylland. The education alternates between school and practical training and takes up to 3.5 years.
As a groundsman trainee at FC Midtjylland, no two days are the same. You will work with:
- Daily care and maintenance of our two hybrid courts and other grass areas.
- Mowing, fertilizing, aerating, watering and sowing.
- Maintenance of machinery and equipment.
- Preparation of pitches for training and practice matches.
- Gradually more independent responsibility as you progress in your education.
Working hours may be outside normal working hours at times. There will be work on Saturdays and Sundays.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who:
- Have passed the 9th grade exam.
- Are practical and like to use your hands.
- Enjoy working outdoors – in all kinds of weather.
- Ready to step up when needed.
- Can work independently and take responsibility, but is also good at being part of a team.
- Are motivated to learn and develop professionally throughout the entire education process.
It is an advantage if you have a driving license for a car and/or tractor, but it is not a requirement.
