Blackpool Football Club is an English Professional Association Football Club based in the
seaside town of Blackpool, Lancashire.
The Club was founded in 1887 and has a very storied history, from being a founding
member of the Lancashire League in 1889, rising to the Top-Flight of the Football League
(the old First Division) in 1930, to winning the FA Cup in 1953 and being promoted to the
Premier League in 2010 (becoming the first Club to gain promotion from every division of
the Football League via the play-off system).
The Club currently competes in League One, the third tier of the English Football League.
The Club has played its home games at Bloomfield Road since 1901.
Job Purpose:
Blackpool Football Club is seeking a creative, organised and enthusiastic Media & Marketing
Executive to support the delivery of the Club's marketing, communications and media
strategy.
The successful candidate will play a key role in driving supporter engagement, enhancing
the Club's brand presence, delivering effective marketing campaigns, managing digital
communications, and producing engaging media content across all Club channels.
Working across both media and marketing functions, the role will support fan growth,
commercial objectives, brand development and positive media coverage while maintaining
the highest standards of communication and supporter experience.
This is a varied, hands-on role requiring flexibility across media and marketing functions and
the ability to work collaboratively across all areas of the Club to support supporter growth,
commercial objectives and brand development.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Media & Communications
• Assist in the delivery of all Club media, communications and public relations
activities.
• Support the publication of official Club announcements, press releases and media
communications.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with local, regional and national media
representatives.
• Assist with press officer duties and media operations as required.
• Coordinate media commitments involving players, coaching staff and Club
representatives.
• Ensure all communications align with Club brand guidelines, values and messaging.
Marketing
• Support the planning, delivery and evaluation of marketing campaigns across all Club
departments.
• Manage and implement targeted marketing campaigns through email, social media,
website, app, SMS and push notification channels.
• Support the Club's data and CRM strategy, ensuring supporter communications are
relevant, timely and effective.
• Utilise supporter data and segmentation techniques to maximise engagement and
campaign performance.
• Analyse campaign performance and provide reports on key metrics including
engagement, reach, conversion and revenue.
• Assist with ticketing, retail, hospitality, commercial and community marketing
campaigns.
• Support the delivery of offline marketing activity including matchday promotions,
posters, advertising and supporter events.
Digital Content & Social Media
• Support the day to day management of the Club's social media platforms.
• Provide live coverage of first team fixtures, both home and away, across social media
and digital channels.
Assist in maintaining the accuracy and relevance of content across the Club website
and digital platforms.
• Create engaging written, photographic and video content for the Club's website,
social channels, app and email campaigns.
• Develop content plans aligned to the Club's marketing and communications
calendar.
• Work with internal departments to promote Club initiatives, products, services and
events.
• Ensure all content is consistent, accurate and reflective of the Club's brand identity.
• Support the production of visual content through collaboration with external
agencies and internal stakeholders.
Publications & Supporter Engagement
• Manage and coordinate the production of the Club's matchday programme, ensuring
all content is accurate, engaging and delivered to deadlines.
• Assist with the production and coordination of other Club publications and printed
materials as required.
• Support the delivery and promotion of supporter engagement initiatives, including
membership schemes and fan events.
• Assist in the planning and delivery of supporter experiences and community
engagement activities.
General
• Work collaboratively across all departments to support Club objectives.
• Promote a professional image of the Club at all times.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and supporter engagement.
• Ensure compliance with all Club policies and relevant legislation, including
safeguarding and UK GDPR.
• Cooperate fully with colleagues and provide support across departments in response
to the needs of the Club.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and seek opportunities to develop
personal skills and knowledge.
• Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role as reasonably requested.
Health and Safety
• Fully endorse and comply with all aspects of the Club’s health and safety policy.
• Comply with all Club policies and statutory regulations relating to health and safety,
safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire and COSHH.
• Be familiar with all aspects of fire evacuation and procedures, working with the
Stadium Operations Manager to help ensure the safety of the premises and
occupants at all times.
• Identify and report maintenance requirements or hazards within the workplace and
encourage others to do the same.
Safeguarding
• The role is subject to safer recruitment checks and will require an enhanced DBS
check, in line with the duties undertaken and applicable legislation.
• The postholder will be required to complete and maintain all mandatory
safeguarding training relevant to the role.
