Position Overview

Pursuit FC is seeking a motivated, professional, and growth-minded Soccer Coach/Trainer to join our coaching staff. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality training sessions, developing players within our club game model, and helping cultivate a competitive, positive, and disciplined team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Player Development & Training

  • Plan and deliver structured, high-level training sessions aligned with the Pursuit FC game model and periodization plan
  • Teach and reinforce technical, tactical, physical, and mental aspects of the game
  • Develop players using age-appropriate methodologies consistent with U.S. Soccer standards while ensuring that the kids are having fun
  • Create an environment that challenges players to grow, compete, and think the game

Team & Culture Leadership

  • Model and enforce Pursuit FC’s “pack mentality” and club standards
  • Foster a culture of accountability, discipline, resilience, and respect
  • Promote teamwork, leadership, and a competitive mindset
  • Build strong relationships with players while maintaining high expectations

Performance Management

  • Evaluate player performance and provide consistent, constructive feedback
  • Contribute to and deliver Individual Development Plans (IDPs)
  • Track player progress and communicate development priorities

Program & Club Support

  • Lead and manage team training sessions, games, and tournaments
  • Assist with club events, camps, clinics, and outreach initiatives
  • Support player recruitment, identification, and retention efforts
  • Collaborate with Director of Coaching and staff to ensure alignment with club philosophy

Communication & Professionalism

  • Maintain clear, professional communication with players, parents, and staff
  • Represent Pursuit FC with integrity both on and off the field
  • Attend staff meetings, coaching education sessions, and club functions

 

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum US Soccer National “D” License (or actively pursuing completion by 2026). Will consider professional playing experience in the interim while obtaining license
  • Experience coaching competitive youth soccer (club or academy level preferred)
  • Strong understanding of player development principles and training methodology
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to create a structured, disciplined, and positive training environment

Preferred

  • US Soccer “B” License (or higher)
  • Experience with periodization and long-term athlete development models
  • Background in player evaluation and IDP implementation
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
