Role Overview
Berwick Rangers FC are looking to add reliable volunteer First Team Scouts to our scouting network ahead of the upcoming season.
This is a live scouting role focused on identifying and reporting on potential players who may be suitable for Berwick Rangers’ first team recruitment process. Scouts will attend fixtures across their agreed area and submit clear, honest and structured reports to support the club’s player identification and monitoring work.
The scouting network currently provides player reports and opposition analysis to support the football club.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend live fixtures across Scotland
- Identify potential recruitment targets for Berwick Rangers FC
- Complete clear and accurate player reports
- Monitor players over multiple games where required
- Communicate regularly with the Chief Scout
- Represent Berwick Rangers FC professionally when attending fixtures
- Maintain confidentiality around players, reports and club recruitment work
Areas of Coverage
We are particularly interested in scouts who can cover fixtures across:
- Lowland League East
- Lowland League West
- East of Scotland League
- West of Scotland League
- Selected SPFL fixtures where required
Applicants must be able to attend live fixtures in person. This is not a remote scouting role.

- Ability to attend live matches

Desirable:
- Previous scouting or analysis experience
- Scouting qualifications
- Coaching qualifications
- Full driving licence and access to transport
- Knowledge of the Lowland League, East of Scotland League, West of Scotland League or SPFL
Additional Information
This is a voluntary role. Match access will be arranged where possible, but expenses are not currently covered.
The role would suit someone looking to gain experience in football scouting, develop their reporting skills and contribute to a structured first team scouting network.
Previous scouts from the network have progressed into roles with SPFL clubs, agencies and clubs abroad.

Berwick Rangers Football Club are famous as the English club which plays in the Scottish League and enjoy a place in history with their famous 1967 Scottish Cup victory over Glasgow Rangers which is still widely renowned as one of the greatest ever cup shocks.
Based in the beautiful and historic town of Berwick-Upon-Tweed in Northumberland they have called Shielfield Park (which has a capacity of 4000) home since the early 50’s.
The team currently play in the Lowland League, the fifth tier of Scottish football, and were the only club from outside Scotland in the Scottish Professional Football League until their relegation in 2019.
