The club continues to develop both on and off the pitch, with a clear focus on building a structured and ambitious senior football environment.

With the introduction of a reserve team and a growing emphasis on player development and progression, the club is committed to creating a sustainable pathway from grassroots and youth football into competitive senior football.

Role Description

This is an on-site role at Lostock Gralam FC for a First Team Coach.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the First Team environment, leading training sessions, assisting with match preparation, and contributing to the overall footballing direction of the senior setup. You will work closely with the management team and players to raise performance standards, develop tactical structure, and help build a positive but demanding environment.

This role offers the opportunity to take real coaching responsibility within senior football and be part of a club actively building structure, ambition, and progression across its football pathway.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality First Team training sessions
  • Support match preparation, tactical planning, and in-game decision making
  • Contribute to the development of playing style and team identity
  • Work closely with management and players to improve performance levels
  • Assist with player development, recruitment, and retention where required
  • Promote a positive, disciplined, and ambitious team culture
  • Support the link between First Team and Reserve squad

Matchday & Training Commitment

The role requires availability for matchdays, typically Saturday (2pm kick-offs), with occasional summer evening fixtures. Training sessions are held on Thursday evenings, and attendance at both training and matchdays is an essential requirement of the role.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Coaching experience within grassroots or senior football environments
  • Strong understanding of tactical and technical coaching principles
  • Experience in matchday preparation and team management
  • Ability to develop players individually and within a team structure
  • Strong communication, leadership, and motivational skills
  • FA Level 2 (UEFA C or equivalent) preferred but not essential depending on experience
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • A strong passion for football and commitment to club development

Pay: £12.71 per hour

Work Location: In person
