University of Surrey Football Coaches (Multiple Roles Available) - PAID

Paid Roles available are:

• Men's 2nd Team  Head Coach
• Women's 1st Team Head Coach
• Women's 2nd Team Head Coach

Description:
This role will be to lead and develop the coaching sessions for training nights for their 
relevant team, while working closely with the overall Head Coach of Football, while also 
working in conjunction on the philosophy, and ensuring that all areas are covered throughout 
training blocks. This person will also be required to plan a series of sessions which support 
the principles of play and allow the squads development throughout the season. The job 
holder will deliver these sessions as part of their role and will work closely with the other 
coaches to challenge thinking and prepare the squad for the upcoming fixtures.

The job holder will also be able to support the selection of squads (Monday prior to training) 
for all teams for match days. To achieve this, they should be invested in the whole 
programme and looking to support movement of players from their squad upwards, as well 
as having strong knowledge of players in the lower squads to give opportunities at the right 
times with data based decisions.

On match days, (Wednesday afternoons) this person will be the Head Coach of their 
relevant team, with an Assistant Coach helping with specific areas of the Match-day Setup. 
They will be relied upon to organise themselves, the players and the match day equipment 
appropriately, prior to the game day, while preparing and delivering  sufficient warm ups, pre-match instructions and leading half time coaching delivery. Post games, they should look to 
provide strong feedback to the Head Coach of Football around players performance and 
attitude in order to support whole club coaching decisions, as well as feeding back data to 
the Administrative Coordinators, based on the game (player minutes, player ratings, goals, 
assists, cards).

Job Responsibilities:
● To plan sessions in advance linking to the playing philosophy / game model. 
● To support individual player development and supporting Head Coach of Football 
with individual player conversations where appropriate. 
● To support a positive coaching environment where all players are engaged and 
involved during each session, linking to the philosophy / game model. 
● To be looking at the players in the squads below in order to consider which players 
could be accelerated in their development through training invitations and match day 
opportunities. 
● To attend face to face / remote meetings regarding team performance and player 
reviews (IDP’s) 
● To update the Admin Team with info regarding training register, player minutes, 
match day stats etc so this can be collated into Sheets on the Google Drive for the 
2’s to aid selection and promotion decisions. 
● To attend Squad Selection Coaches Meetings on Monday 20:00 to organise kit, 
match day squads and discuss any players developing / performing well.
