JOB TITLE: Field Maintenance Employee
 Seasonal, Part-Time
PAY: Commensurate with experience

OBJECTIVE:
To ensure that club used and owned soccer fields are maintained to a high standard and ready
for usage on weekly basis.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
This is a non-supervisory position. General job function is to efficiently and effectively ensure
soccer fields at the Barrie Soccer Club and various fields within the City of Barrie are lined
weekly, and that goal netting is installed, and in good working order. Main duties would
include, but not limited to, lining the fields, regular cutting, and addressing any field concerns.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performs maintenance of club facilities, such as mowing, chalk lining
• Installation of soccer goal netting (mesh) at various fields in the City of Barrie
• Ability to perform mowing operations with wide area, zero turn rotary, or reel type
mowing equipment
• Participates in the maintenance and repair/replacement of facility equipment as
required
• Participates in the operation of heavy and/or light equipment including reel mowers,
edger, field maintenance equipment, paint striping machines, etc.
• Performs maintenance in a safe manner
• Punctual and organized
• Must have personal vehicle and valid driver’s license
• Equipment and Materials will be provided

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Thorough knowledge of the safe and proper operation of equipment including safety
standards to prevent hazards and injury
• Thorough knowledge of the safe and proper operation of motor vehicles
• Ability to load and/or unload a chalking machine and/or 50 lb bags of chalk, or any other
field maintenance product from a utility vehicle
• Ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing
• Sufficient knowledge of technical skills related to the work of park maintenance


WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Primarily outdoor work in summer months
Occasionally exposed to wet, windy, and/or humid conditions


COMMUNICATION SKILLS REQUIRED:
Ability to deal with the general public, vendors and fellow employees efficiently and effectively


ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
High school graduation or its equivalent; experience in field maintenance work desirable; or any
equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge,
skills, and abilities
