Rossall is embarking on a new era of sport as we seek to professionalise our coaching model in our focus sports of Football, Golf, Hockey, Cricket and Netball.
At the heart of this development is the introduction of a specialist coaching model across our major sports. From September 2026, football, hockey, cricket, golf, and netball will be led by dedicated, high-performance coaches with extensive expertise and a passion for developing young athletes. This significant investment reflects a clear ambition: to create an environment where talent is nurtured, potential is unlocked, and every student can experience sport at its very best.
In football, our programme is strengthened through our link with Manchester City, bringing world-class methodology, coaching insight, and a global perspective aligned with one of the most progressive clubs in world football. This connection places our students within an international footballing framework, exposing them to elite standards, modern playing philosophies, and opportunities that extend far beyond the school environment.
This international dimension is central to the vision of Rossall School. Our sporting programmes increasingly reflect the diversity, ambition, and global outlook of our student body. Through high-level competition, specialist coaching, and international connections, students benefit from exposure to different styles of play, cultures, and pathways in sport.

Rossall School is a private day and boarding school in the United Kingdom for 0–18 year olds, between Cleveleys and Fleetwood, Lancashire.
Here, education is about more than academic results. It is about character – the courage to try, the kindness to support others, and the resilience to keep going when things are hard. We set high expectations because we believe in every child’s capacity to thrive, and we know that real success happens when challenge is matched with care.
Rossall is a community in the truest sense, a place where pupils, staff, and families share in the joys, responsibilities, and celebrations of school life. It is somewhere everyone can belong, where differences are valued, and where friendships endure for a lifetime.
We give our pupils the time and space to explore their passions, whether on the stage, in the laboratory, on the sports field, in the art studio, or beyond. Our aim is simple: to help every young person become the very best version of themselves, ready to step into the world with confidence and purpose.
Rossall is a school with heart, ambition, and an unwavering belief in its young people.
