First Team Sports Rehabilitator

Job Description

Job role: To assist in the provision of medical support services, delivering high-quality rehabilitation across the injury pathway, from initial presentation through to return to play, with a strong emphasis on pitch based, football specific conditioning and reintegration

Hours: 40 hours per week

Salary: Competative

Main duties:

·         Plan and provide injury prevention programmes for all players.

·         Collaboratively assist the First Team Physiotherapist in the assessment and screening of injury diagnosis of First Team Players and determination of players’ fitness to train and play.

·         Work in conjunction with the First Team Physiotherapist for the programming and delivery for acute / mid / end stages of rehabilitation to all First Team Injured players.

·         Effectively assist in the screening and testing protocols that objectively assess players’ physical capabilities within a criteria-based rehabilitation. 

·         To chaperone players to off-site locations as and when required. This may include, but not limited to specialist appointments, surgical procedures, alternative therapies, physical testing locations etc.

·         Take part in CPD and attend in-house CPD training.

·         Liaise with key stakeholders regarding player availability and progress.

·         Maintain contemporaneous medical notes to an excellent standard on the Club’s medical notes system.

·         Ensure high levels of professionalism and patient confidentiality.

·         Alongside coaching staff help, as needed, to organise Sports Science testing and sessions for all players

·         Arrange and undertake appropriate medical examinations for players, this should include pre-signing medicals (with appropriate liaison with additional staff) annual checks and additional investigations

·         Inform medical insurance when additional medical investigations are required.

·         Provide competent pitch-side first aid to all players at the club where necessary.

·         To attend staff meetings as required.

·         To attend all first team games.

·         To assist with monitoring medical equipment and consumables stock levels and re-ordering.

·         Adhering to and following the clubs safeguarding procedures.

·         Any other duties that are reasonable and consistent with the nature of the job.

Essential requirements for the post:

·         BSc Degree Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy or Sports Rehabilitation

·         Registration with appropriate governing body (CSP, HCPC, BASRat)

·         The FA Level 5 Emergency First Aid in Football (ATMMiF) or equivalent

·         Appropriate child protection/Disclosure certification

·         UK Full Driving Licence

·         The role will involve working weekdays, weekends and some evenings as required

·         Maintenance on contemporary, legible and appropriate medical records, audits, registers and their confidential storage using appropriate software
