Role Summary

 

The successful candidate will play a leading role in the identification and recruitment of talent through the application of data analytics within the scouting and recruitment process. Reporting to the Head of Recruitment and working in close collaboration with the rest of the department, they will be responsible for the management, analysis and integration of large data sets from various providers into the club’s bespoke recruitment system, having a significant impact within a professional football environment.

Key Job Outcomes

 

·         Interpret and manipulate data in accordance with the philosophy, current and long-term requirements of Cambridge United to highlight, monitor and analyse talent of interest from target leagues.

·         Present attractive and actionable statistical reports and visualisations giving insights to various personnel with a range of understanding.

·         Utilise all resources to deliver data-driven research projects.

·         Collaborate on the maintenance and development of the club’s bespoke recruitment system, integrating automated processes and optimising data delivery.

·         Discover and create new avenues to support and positively impact talent identification and monitoring.

Person Specification

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s or higher degree in a sports or quantitative field.

Experience handling, operating on and building from large datasets, ideally with an ability to code to create custom visuals & interrogate data.

Strong proficiency in a range of data management platforms including Microsoft Excel & Google Sheets.

Previous experience of working within a professional football club or related Sports industry experience.

Ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights.
