What You'll Be Doing

  • Shadowing and learning directly from experienced football coaches, observing how sessions are planned, structured and delivered
  • Coaching groups of 12–15 children on a weekly basis, taking ownership of sessions as your confidence develops
  • Designing and delivering training programmes that support the development of young footballers aged 2–16
  • Running 1-to-1 coaching sessions, assessing individual players' strengths and weaknesses and helping them improve their game

What You'll Get

  • A fully funded Level 4 Sports Coach qualification (Higher National Certificate) delivered by The Educationwise Academy Ltd
  • Training through a mix of online learning, webinars, practical workshops and workplace visits from your tutor
  • Full on-the-job coaching from a professional and supportive team
  • Mentoring, regular feedback and ongoing development throughout the apprenticeship
  • The chance to shadow different sessions and age groups to broaden your experience
  • Training in coaching techniques, behaviour management and safeguarding
  • Duration: 18 - 24 Months

What We're Looking For

  • A genuine enthusiasm for football and working with children
  • Good communication skills with both young people and adults
  • Reliability, punctuality and a strong willingness to learn
  • A positive, friendly and team-oriented approach

Working Hours

Monday to Friday: 12:00pm – 8:00pm (varied hours) Saturday: 8:30am – 1:30pm Total: 30 hours per week
