Position: Digital Content & Social Media Intern
Position Type: Unpaid Internship / Student Placement
Reports To: Ontario Premier League Program Manager
Location: Cambridge, Ontario (Hybrid: remote + on-site for select matches/events)
Duration: Summer term (approximately 4 months)
Start date: Flexible based on academic requirements
Position Overview: The Digital Content & Social Media Intern will support
Cambridge United’s digital presence by assisting with basic content creation and
social media activity across the club’s platforms. This role is designed as a learning
opportunity for a student interested in sport, media, and digital communications.
The intern will gain hands-on experience in a community-based, high-performance
soccer environment while contributing to the club’s storytelling and matchday
coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with posting content across club social media platforms (e.g.,
Instagram, Facebook, YouTube)
Support basic content creation, including photos, short videos, and graphics
Assist with matchday content capture at selected home matches
Help maintain consistency with club branding and messaging
Support simple content planning and scheduling
Assist with basic performance tracking (engagement, reach, etc.)
Provide general support to the club’s communications and operations team
as needed

Matchday media operations
Understanding how social media supports a club’s overall marketing efforts
Ideal Candidate:
Current post-secondary student or recent graduate in:
Marketing
Communications
Digital Media
Sport Management (or related field)
Interest in social media and digital content
Basic familiarity with common social platforms
Willingness to learn and take initiative
Passion for sport and community involvement
Remuneration:
This is an unpaid internship intended for academic credit and/or professional
development.
