Banbury United FC

Banbury United Football Club was established in 1931 and is North Oxfordshire’s largest football Club. Known as ‘The Puritans’ we are proudly owned by our community and are based at the Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium in central Banbury.

Our men’s first team currently competes in the Vanarama National League North, supported by our U18 Development squad. Our women’s team plays in the Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League – Division 1.

Twenty junior boys’ and girls’ teams play across the region, wearing the Banbury United red and gold colours. We support our community through various sporting programmes and as a social hub for everyone.

Banbury United Football Club is a Community Benefit Society. It is registered under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014, Registration Number 7135, as Banbury United Community Football Club Ltd.

Banbury United FC is recruiting a volunteer Head of Human Resources (HR) to join the Club’s leadership team. This is part of the Club’s continued development of the business: to create the highest performing team in our league, both on and off the pitch. “Our work on the structure of the Club continues with the identification this specialist position to take us to the next step,” says Banbury United Chairman, Wayne Farrell. “We are searching for a like-minded, high calibre, sports-loving leader with HR expertise to take care of this specific piece of the business. Following the recruitment of a General Manager a couple of months ago, this appointment will further increase the Board’s overall capacity to accelerate and professionally execute the long list of actions we’ve identified.” It is the aim that the holder of this role will be invited in due course to become a board member, subject to being voted in by the Club’s members.
