Based at the Coventry Building Society Arena, Sky Blues in the Community is the official charity arm of Coventry City Football Club. The charity is formerly a department of Coventry City FC, formed in 1993 to deliver football in the community initiatives on behalf of the club.

The organisation became a registered charity in December 2008, financially independent from the football club and governed by an independent Board of Trustees. We are supported by the English Football League Trust, which oversees the work of community schemes at the 72 Football League clubs.

Over the years, the role of Sky Blues in the Community has changed dramatically, from offering traditional football development activities to playing a greater role in driving personal and community development in Coventry and Warwickshire.

Our work now is more than just football...

We increase opportunities to take part in a range of sports and physical activities, improve health and wellbeing, promote education, learning and personal development and support inclusion amongst disadvantaged and underrepresented communities.

We work with a number of local, regional and national organisations from the voluntary, statutory and private sector. Our list of partners is substantial and we are committed to increasing the range and diversity of our partnerships helping us to achieve our organisational objectives.

The vision for the organisation is 'Change lives in our local community'. This vision is supported by our organisational mission statement, which is 'Use the reach and appeal of Coventry City Football Club to make a difference to the lives of people across Coventry and Warwickshire.'

Professional football clubs provide an attractive platform for engaging people from all walks of life and this puts us in a unique position to address local priorities and national issues. We build on this platform by delivering innovative and quality activities across four main themes (Sport, Health, Inclusion and Education). We see it as our responsibility to utilise our position for the benefit of the community across Coventry and Warwickshire and have a positive impact in our local area.
