Edinburgh City F.C. is a semi-professional Scottish football club that plays in Scottish League Two, the fourth tier of the Scottish Professional Football League. Based in Edinburgh, they play their home matches at Meadowbank Stadium and made history by being the first team to be promoted through the SPFL pyramid system. Founded in 1928, the current club adopted the name in 1986 after a previous club of the same name folded in the 1950s.
