Founded in 1962, the Clarkstown Soccer Clubs mission is to help each player reach their full potential, both on and off the pitch. We believe in teaching players to win and lose with dignity, instilling life values that foster integrity, teamwork, and a genuine love for the game. The Clarkstown Soccer Club recently joined the elite ranks of the National Academy League and are looking for an experienced Head Coach who shares our commitment to excellence and can guide our Boys U13 to U18 teams in this competitive environment. ?
Primary on the Field Responsibilities:
- Training & Session Planning:
- Lead and structure dynamic training sessions tailored to the age, skill level, and developmental goals of each player and team.
- Focus on enhancing technical abilities (dribbling, passing, shooting, defending), tactical understanding, and physical fitness.
- Player Development & Feedback:
- Conduct individual development plans (IDPs) to evaluate player strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
- Provide constructive feedback to motivate and guide players to reach their full potential.
- Continuously monitor progress and adjust training plans to ensure steady growth.
- Game Preparation & Strategy:
- Develop and implement game strategies, formations, and tactics appropriate for each opponent and competition level.
- Promote teamwork, respect, sportsmanship, and leadership within the team environment.
- Additional Coaching Activities:
- Potential to assist with private or small-group sessions, camps, and clinics.
- Uphold a professional demeanor while representing Clarkstown SC at matches, tournaments, and club events.
Primary off the Field Responsibilities:
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Communicate regularly with players, parents, and club staff to address questions, concerns, and updates.
- Coordinate with Clarkstown SC leadership, on club initiatives and coaching education requirements.
- Professional Development:
- Stay current with coaching methodologies, attend required education programs, and pursue ongoing professional growth.
- Logistics & Administration:
- Assist in scheduling, roster management, and other administrative tasks as needed.
- Adhere to club policies regarding travel, tournament participation, and event coordination.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Licensing & Experience:
- USSF National “C” License or higher is required.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience coaching at the youth or collegiate level is preferred.
- Goalkeeper training experience or diploma is a plus.
- Background Checks & Compliance:
- Must successfully complete a background check and Safe Sport certification.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Proven ability to develop and inspire youth athletes.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with video analysis tools, Microsoft Office/Google Suite, and online meeting platforms (Zoom, Google Meet).
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to work closely with other coaches and club staff.
- Other Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Availability for regular travel to tournaments and league games which may require overnight stays.
- Non-traditional work hours, including weekends and evenings, are regularly required.
Compensation
- Competitive monthly compensation of $x,xxx – $x,xxx, commensurate with experience and responsibilities, reflecting the demands of coaching in a high-level competitive environment such as the National Academy League. Clarkstown SC also provides reimbursement for certain travel expenses related to official games and tournaments, including lodging up to a specified limit. In addition, coaches receive an annual equipment allowance to ensure they have the resources needed to excel in their roles.
