A bit about Altrincham FC

We are a passionate, forward-thinking and community-focused club based in the Greater Manchester / Cheshire town of Altrincham. After eight years of progress on and off the pitch we are currently battling to win promotion from the National League to the EFL for the first time in our 134-year history.

With this growth comes the need to continually improve and enhance our presence locally, regionally, nationally AND internationally. We are seeking enthusiastic and creative individuals to join our media team and help us enhance our growing media output as we look to further our reach and expand on our excellent foundations.

About the role

As a volunteer Media Assistant, you will play an important role in capturing and sharing the excitement of Alty matches and events. You will contribute to our online presence, engage with our supporters, and help us tell the story of our historic, popular and fascinating football club.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in sports media and to contribute to a thriving club; one with community at its heart.

Who we're looking for - Skills and Qualities

• A Passion for football
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in videography (desirable but not essential)
• Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation tools
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of website content management systems (desirable but not essential)
• Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude

Key Responsibilities (would include a mix of the following):

Match Day Coverage
Capture high-quality, engaging videos of matches, training sessions, and events.
Provide live updates on social platforms during matches.

Content Creation
Assist in creating engaging content for the club's social channels (e.g., match reports,
player profiles, behind-the-scenes features).
Contribute ideas for new and innovative content formats.

Social Media Management
Assist in scheduling and posting content across various social platforms
Help to grow the club’s social media following.

Website Maintenance
Assist in populating the club's website with match reports, news, plus other relevant information

General Support
Attend club meetings and events as required
Assist with other media-related tasks as needed.
