Intern EFL Scout / Analyst

Job Description

Role Description:

Swindon Town Football Club are offering two First-Team Performance Analysis Internship opportunities for the 2025/26 season.

The successful candidates will gain first-hand experience working within a fast-paced, elite First-Team environment, competing in EFL League Two.

The candidates will work closely with the analysis, coaching, and sports science staff to provide analytical support to the First-Team players.

Applicants must be in education (Sandwich Year) and looking for a placement to work alongside their studies. Applicants should ideally be based in the Southwest or within commutable distance to Swindon Town’s training ground (Beversbrook Sports Facility) and The County Ground.

Key Responsibilities:

o Assist with reports and video clips for upcoming opponents.

o To film and capture First-Team games and training.

o Live and post-match coding of training and games using HUDL SportsCode.

o Support with creating clips for post-match video analysis for the team, units and individuals.

o Help maintain Swindon Town’s team and individual statistical databases.
o Create reports on upcoming opponents individual threats and tendencies within

units.

o Update Swindon Towns Best Practice Video Library.

o Assist with departmental projects, researching relevant academic literature.

o Comply with all company policies and procedures. Adhere to all company regulations regarding safeguarding, health, safety, and security.

Education/Qualifications/Training:

o Studying towards a degree in Football, Sport, or equivalent courses.
o Sandwich Year Student with relevant interests working within the elite football

environment.
o Experience working as an analyst within football or related sports


Person Specification:

o Very good understanding of football coaching, tactics, and technical detail.
o Interest and a passion for analysis of football.
o Ability to commit for the 2025/26 season.
o Be willing to commit to unsociable hours i.e. weekends.

o Be trustworthy with sensitive data.
o Self-motivated, proactive, and willing to learn.
o Proficient computer literacy.
o High organisation skills and attention to detail.
o Good interpersonal and communication skills.
o Full UK driving licence or ability to travel to various locations.

• This a full-time role that includes work on some weekends and some evenings • Applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK
