Role Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at Torquay United Community Sports Trust. We are requesting applications for a highly motivated individual to lead our Disability Football Provision alongside working in the successful delivery of our Education and Community Football Programme, as well as to lead and drive the Trust’s aims and objectives.

This role is initially 35 hours per week covering Monday-Friday, with some weekend work and a view to becoming full-time.

Role Responsibilities (Specific)

  • To lead the delivery and organisation of the TUCST Disability Department which oversees both Junior & Adult Football Sessions.
  • To work efficiently & effectively in the TUCST Education Programme during the week. When working in our Education Programme, this role is to work solely in one of our key partner schools Monday to Friday.
  • To regularly meet with TUCST Management Team colleagues and produce half-termly reports on the status and development of the Disability Department.
  • To regularly meet with TUCST Management Team and produce half-termly reports on the financial status of the TUCST Disability Department.
  • To develop and maintain a high-quality level of PE and School Sport provision within TUCST key partner schools.
  • To line manage and coordinate TUCST coaches within the Disability Department.
  • To support and monitor the TUCST coaches’ performance within the Disability sector, including regular observations and feedback meetings.
  • To develop schemes of work with PE and School Sport, adhering the PE National Curriculum and the specific needs of the school.
  • To grow and develop the TUCST Disability Department, developing relationships with potential new partners.
  • To ascertain regular and meaningful feedback from key stakeholders, to ensure provision is of the highest quality.
  • To support Trust Manager with funding bids and grant applications.
  • To deliver high-quality sport related activities across Torbay and South Devon, within the Education Department and the TUCST Community and Holiday provision.
  • To plan, prepare and implement well-structured and progressive sport coaching programmes ensuring a high quality and enjoyable coaching experience centred on the needs of the participants.
  • To carry out administrative duties as necessary, maintain accurate attendance registers, carry out risk assessments, monitor and evaluate assessment of coaching sessions.
  • To be committed to continuous professional development relevant to the post and personal training needs supporting future career advancement.
  • To ensure that the health and safety of participants, volunteers and staff is prioritised at all times.

Primary Responsibilities (TUCST)

Summary of primary responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare and implement innovative sport related activities and projects across Torbay and South Devon and Torbay ensuring a high quality and enjoyable coaching experience centred on the needs of the participants
  • To take specific responsibility for work linked to the objectives of the Trust’s Business Plan
  • Work strategically with partner organisations to deliver excellent provision and supports the growth of the Trust.
  • Work flexibly across the Trust to understand and support all business functions as and when required by Trust Manager
  • Contribute to positively raising the profile and the awareness of the Trust by working together with the Trust Manager.
  • To support the Trust in its commitment to safeguarding young people & vulnerable adults
  • To support the Trust Manager with funding bids and grant applications
  • To carry out administrative duties as necessary, maintain accurate attendance registers, carry out risk assessments, monitor and evaluate assessment of coaching sessions
  • To be committed to continuous professional development relevant to the post
  • To ensure that health and safety of participants, volunteers and staff is prioritised at all times
  • To keep all the requirements and needs of the Trust confidential at all times and comply with Data Protection rules and regulations
  • To comply with all other Policies and Procedures as required by TUCST

Essential:-

  • FA Level 2 Qualification/UEFA C Licence
  • High level experience in the delivery of Primary School PE and School Sport
  • Member of FA Licensed Coaches Club
  • Be available to work Monday-Friday along with some weekend work
  • Knowledge and experience of Safeguarding and Health and Safety
  • Experience working with individuals with additional needs and/or learning difficulties
  • Experience working with children and young people
  • Excellent organisation and administration skills
  • Customer service experience
  • Self-motivated with experience of working individually and as part of a team
  • Budgetary awareness
  • Line management experience
  • Knowledge of the PE National Curriculum
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Further Information

As this role involves direct access to young persons under the age of eighteen, within the context of the job or any subsequently related activities or responsibilities, the successful candidate will undergo a thorough screening process, which will include an enhanced Criminal Records (DBS) check to ensure their suitability for the role.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £12.21 - £12.50 per hour - Depending on experience and qualification

Expected hours: 35 per week

Probation period is 3 months - potential for full time position after this time
