Job Description

COMPANY BACKGROUND
The Houston Dynamo Football Club (HDFC) is a multi-faceted organization dedicated to inspiring and
supporting soccer participation and growth in Houston, TX and beyond. The Club’s brands include men's
and women's professional teams - the Houston Dynamo (MLS) and Houston Dash (NWSL), a development
academy, Houston Dynamo Dash Charities, as well as Shell Energy Stadium and Houston Sports Park.
The Club has a rich history, including MLS Cup titles (2006, 2007) and in-season tournament
championships for both the Dynamo (2018) and Dash (2020) and is focused on building toward the next
championships, inspiring and uniting the city of Houston through the sport of soccer and community
outreach, and creating the most inclusive sporting experience and diverse fan base in the city and state.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This position will be responsible for scouting and player recruitment for the Houston Dash. This position
will use a combination scouting resources including video analysis, in person analysis, and leverage data
driven insights to identify and build reports for potential additions to the team. The scout will execute both
domestic and international scouting from the professional to youth levels. The position will report and
collaborate with the Director of Recruitment and Analytics.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identify and evaluate players through video review, live scouting, and data analysis.
  • Prepare detailed written and video reports to inform recruitment decisions.
  • Maintain depth charts on primary geographic regions and keep scouting database up to date while monitoring development of targeted players.
  • Gain knowledge, information and provide insight on key markets and clubs – being a relationship
    builder within each market to gather insights.
  • Making comparisons and recommendations based on key metrics of interest and core club
    positional profiles.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to align scouting efforts with club objectives.
  • Support with scouting and build out of youth development and identification.
  • Support with monitoring and reporting of players out on loan.
  • Assist with tournament planning and scouting logistics as needed.
  • Assist with video and data-based projects under the guidance of Director of Recruitment and
    Analytics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Demonstrate expertise and high level of knowledge of the domestic and global women’s soccer landscape.
  • Proven experience with scouting processes and player identification.
  • Be proficient in scouting tools and video analysis resources including but not limited to Wyscout and StatsBomb.
  • Have advanced knowledge of data and applied analysis as it relates to scouting (preferred).
  • Have advanced knowledge in women's soccer and college soccer, US soccer landscape youth pathway, and regional youth soccer landscape.
  • Show attention to detail, with the ability to deliver accurate work under time constraints.
  • Bring an enthusiastic and proactive approach to identifying top soccer talent.
