Job Summary:

Al Ain Football Club is seeking a highly skilled and experienced First Team Massage Therapist to join our medical and performance team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing player recovery, reducing injury risk, and optimizing muscle function through specialized massage and manual therapy techniques. The massage therapist will work closely with physiotherapists, sports scientists, and medical staff to ensure players maintain peak physical condition throughout the season.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Pre-Match & Post-Match Massage Therapy

  • Provide pre-match massage and soft tissue therapy to prepare players for competition.
  • Deliver post-match recovery massage to aid muscle relaxation and reduce soreness.
  • Use deep tissue, myofascial release, and trigger point techniques to improve flexibility and circulation.
  • Work with physiotherapists to apply strapping, taping, and stretching techniques when needed.

2. Recovery & Injury Prevention

  • Perform regular massage therapy sessions to promote recovery between matches and training.
  • Assist in muscle maintenance and injury prevention strategies for first-team players.
  • Identify muscular imbalances, tightness, and fatigue that may lead to injuries.
  • Work with sports scientists and medical staff to ensure optimal player workload management.

3. Player Rehabilitation Support

  • Provide manual therapy and soft tissue treatments to aid the rehabilitation of injured players.
  • Work alongside physiotherapists to support injury recovery programs through massage techniques.
  • Apply lymphatic drainage techniques for post-injury swelling reduction.
  • Assist in rehabilitation exercises and stretching routines for players in recovery.

4. Matchday & Training Responsibilities

  • Be available before and after training sessions to provide massage therapy as required.
  • Assist in warm-up and cool-down routines to help prevent muscle stiffness.
  • Travel with the team for domestic and international fixtures, providing massage support on matchdays.
  • Ensure players receive proper hydration and nutritional advice in collaboration with the medical team.

5. Multi-Disciplinary Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with physiotherapists, sports scientists, strength & conditioning coaches, and medical staff to create an integrated recovery plan for players.
  • Attend team meetings and injury management discussions to provide insights on player muscle conditions.
  • Educate players on self-care techniques, such as foam rolling and stretching for improved flexibility.
