Job Description

We are looking for a new volunteer coach to come into one of our three teams and support the current one of the current head coaches of the team while with a view to head coach role next season (25/26). We are ideally looking for a coach who has experience of coaching at an 11v11 format and has at least an FA level 1 or equivelent, however, we are willing to be flexible with regards to the specifics of qualifications, dependent on experience or vice versa.

Our teams:

First Team - Manchester Football League - Division 1

Reserves - Manchester Football League - Division 3

District - Lancashire & Cheshire - Division 3

We are mainly looking for a coach to support with our Reserves & District teams for the remainder of the 24/25 season, and if they impress and meet our expectations of the standard of coaching required, potentially become a head coach for one of our three teams for 2025/26

Training is on Tuesdays (8-9pm)

Matches are on Saturdays (between July - May)

Your responsibilities will be:

  • To run good quality training sessions that will be beneficial to open-age players and for the team (1x per week)
  • If you're available, attend matchdays on Saturday afternoons for a team and support the head coach with anything he needs
  • To offer advice to the head coach (e.g. team selection)
  • To be a committed member of the club who will help it to thrive 

Essential from you:

  • Experience of running session that are of a standard to develop players
  • To be able to run session that are of a high amount of ball rolling time (80%+)
  • Adaptability to what we and the players need from the sessions
  • At least the FA Playmaker qualification or an FA level 1 equivalent  
  • Previous experience of coaching in at an 11v11 format

Desirable from you:

  • UEFA C Certificate or FA Level 2 equivalent
  • or a BSC undergraduate coaching student or a similar relevant field would be excellent
