Job Description Summary
The Director of Youth Soccer is responsible for all on and off-field aspects of El Paso Locomotive FC Youth Soccer programming, competitions, and leagues including, but not limited to tournaments, camps, clinics, early childhood programming, recreation leagues, and adult leagues. This role is not a coaching role, but rather the operational and administrative lead of the Youth Soccer department.
This position is a key contributor to the Youth Soccer team and is tasked with ensuring all work is consistent with the Locomotive brand purpose: “To improve the quality of life and promote economic development in the Borderplex region through sports and entertainment.”
The Director of Youth Soccer position is a high-profile leadership position that is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, operation, and success of the Youth Soccer department. The Director of Youth Soccer will foster stakeholder relationships, design and implement impactful programming, manage financial resources and provide leadership to our program leaders.
The Director of Youth Soccer will provide daily support to team members and offer ongoing leadership, motivation, and development. They are responsible for casting, coaching, communication, alignment, and holding program leaders accountable to the collective Locomotive Youth Soccer expectations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Effectively manage the Youth Soccer team which consists of five full-time associates and 25+ part-time coaches.
- Establish and maintain relationships with other related departments of the organization, including Corporate Partnerships, Marketing, and Game Day Operations.
- Collaborate across departments to maximize revenue opportunities, fulfill contractual obligations, and create personalized, memorable experiences tied to the El Paso Locomotive FC Youth Soccer brand.
- Oversee all client and customer communications, providing exceptional and timely customer service.
- Create a member focus on all operations. Ensure that all programs represent high quality Locomotive Youth Soccer programs and provide experiences that exceeds member expectations.
- Monitor trends and developments in markets, demographics and community needs to ensure this department continues to deliver cost effective programs.
- Monitors budgets, forecasts revenue and expenses for each department monthly/quarterly/annually.
- Monitors supplies, payroll, cost of goods, and expenses for each department monthly/quarterly/annually.
- Mentors (and motivates) program leaders to ensure continuous growth through training, developing, direction, assessing performance, and providing feedback.
- Perform on-site management duties during programming (weeknights and weekends).
- Manage the PlayMetrics registration system.
- Represent El Paso Locomotive FC and its related affiliates in a professional manner at all times.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Youth Programs
- Plan, market, and execute all Locomotive youth soccer programs, including, but not limited to: Grassroots, Club, Academy, and U20 USL Academy League Team.
- Administrative and coaching support at all youth programs. Lead in implementing overall strategy and philosophy of play for all youth programs.
- Assist in planning the year-long youth programs calendar by scheduling dates, securing locations, dates, and cost of programs.
- Responsible for handling specific facility contracts; purchasing and maintaining all equipment and retail inventory related to youth programs.
- Design and execute soccer curriculum for all programs.
Competitions
- Manage and execute all competitions (tournaments, adult leagues, rec leagues), ensuring a world-class environment that supports player, coach, & referee development, while delivering a fun & memorable experience for all attendees.
- Assist in creating the year-long calendar of competitions.
- Manage and develop relationships with internal and external youth soccer clubs.
- Build on existing and create new programming.
- Cultivate relationships with coaches, managers, participants and participant families.
Match Day Responsibilities
- Support Youth Soccer initiatives and brand engagements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sports Management, Marketing or related field required.
- Minimum of 5-7 years working in the youth soccer space.
- Minimum of 1-3 years experience managing 20+ team members.
- Experience providing high-end member service and managing member concerns.
- Track record of success in a performance driven work environment.
- Skills in supervision, budget management, and project management.
- Excellent interviewing skills.
- Strong soccer knowledge and demonstrated skills, coaching licenses and/or playing experience is preferred.
- Capacity to adapt to the unique and vibrant El Paso and Borderplex market.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Calendar.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb and lift up to 50 pounds.
