As it looks towards its third decade as a charity, and with the football club under a new, ambitious ownership group, the Board of Oldham Athletic Community Trust feel the time is right to add strategic capacity to the charity. The aim is to build on the excellent reputation for quality delivery and develop new projects and partnerships.
Phil Royales, Chair of Oldham Athletic Community Trust explains:
‘After a tough period for the football club on and off the pitch, myself and the Board of Trustees of OACT are very excited by the plans of the new ownership group to return Oldham Athletic to its rightful place in the EFL and develop Boundary Park and its surrounds into a first class community asset. Developing the strategic capacity of OACT to work with the club on these projects is a major driver for us to create the new role of CEO, but expanding and diversifying our current offer to the community is of equal importance.
‘In summary, the mission for our new CEO will be twofold:
-to develop a seamless integration between Oldham Athletic Football Club and Oldham Athletic Community Trust whilst ensuring the governance is in place that respects our role as an independent charity
-to ensure Oldham Athletic Community Trust is recognised as the ‘go to’ organisation in Oldham for high quality provision in sport, health and wellbeing, education, employability and community engagement.’
OACT is working with Evans Coaching and Consultancy Ltd to support the recruitment process.
