Position Overview:
Minnesota Soccer Group is seeking a passionate and experienced Commissioner to lead the sporting operations of the Minnesota Super Cup (MNSC).
As the Commissioner, you will be the champion of competitive integrity and sporting excellence for the MNSC. You will lead the Competition Committee in defining and enforcing rules, managing the match calendar, and ensuring a balanced and exciting competition.
Competition Advocate:
Champion the highest standards of sporting conduct and fair play within the Minnesota Super Cup (MNSC).
Be a vocal advocate for the players, coaches, and fans participating in the MNSC, ensuring a balanced and exciting competition.
The Commissioner serves as the primary spokesperson for the MNSC.
Competition Committee Leadership:
Lead the Competition Committee in defining and enforcing rules and regulations specific to the MNSC, ensuring competitive balance, and addressing disciplinary matters. This includes:
Overseeing the MNSC match calendar and scheduling.
Managing and implementing disciplinary procedures in accordance with MNSC policies.
Approving and implementing rule changes for the MNSC.
Ratifying MNSC match results and standings.
Liaison and Collaboration:
Bridge the gap between the sporting and business sides of the MNSC, ensuring alignment on key decisions and strategies. Collaborate with:
MNSC clubs and executives on sporting matters.
Marketing and commercial teams to promote the MNSC and its clubs and players.
Broadcasting partners to optimize the MNSC experience.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
Deep understanding and passion for soccer, with specific knowledge of the Minnesota soccer landscape.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and build consensus among MNSC stakeholders.
Excellent public speaking and media presence to effectively represent the MNSC.
Experience in sports administration, ideally in soccer, with an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities presented by the MNSC format.
Strong understanding of rules and regulations governing soccer competitions, particularly those specific to the MNSC.
Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders involved in the MNSC, including players, coaches, clubs, media, and fans.
Proven track record of integrity and ethical decision-making in a sporting context.
