Scouting Manager
Position Summary:
The Scouting Manager will work collaboratively with the General Manager, Assistant General Manager, coaching staff and colleagues in the scouting department to deliver a comprehensive scouting and recruitment strategy that aligns with DC United’s objectives. This includes talent identification, player assessment, and recruitment operations to strengthen the first team and support the club’s continued growth.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage a recruitment strategy aligned with the club’s sporting objectives, focusing on both immediate and future needs.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to create a streamlined recruitment plan
- Contribute to the maintenance of a comprehensive database of prospective players
- Lead and oversee the recommendation of player acquisitions
- Develop, maintain, and adhere to the scouting department budget
- Evaluate recruitment processes and contribute to the strategic decision making of the department
- Develop and maintain a familiarity with MLS and MLS Next Pro roster rules and how they influence recruitment decisions
- Serve as a point of contact for scouting related communications, coordinating with agents, club representatives and internal stakeholders
- Support domestic player acquisition strategy on trades, expansion draft, re-entry draft, free agency, allocation ranking, Super Draft and Waiver Draft
Desired Skills:
- Proven experience in professional soccer recruitment/scouting
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Willingness to travel
- Ability to speak Spanish is preferred, but not required
Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000
